ABOUT US
Fear Knocks literary e-journal started as a project in a writing class at Naropa University in February 2006.  The editor, Scott Forman, had always wanted to publish a newsletter featuring work by his friends and associates, as well as expanding to a journal size publication and featuring the work of local, national, and international writers.  Until forced to complete the project, Scott spent his time dabbling in writing and writers groups, teaching composition at a nearby university, writing and editing intelligence reports for a three-letter agency, and doing the usual tasks associated with being a dad.  That was until now...

From the Editor
Fear Knocks!  You've opened the door and let it in.   I hope Fear Knocks becomes more than just an e-newsletter or e-zine.  I believe it has the potential to become the premiere literary journal on the web for the finest in Horror writing.  That said, a word on what will be here.  Horror encompasses many genres and takes many forms, from downright sleep with the lights on at night stories to the more subtle psychologically chilling tales that make us suspect our neighbors of something.  As a reader of Horror, names like Poe, Shelley, and Stoker top my list; however, Robert R. McCammon, Anne Rice, Stephen King, H.P. Lovecraft, Algernon Blackwood, and Robert Louis Stevenson also swim to the surface.  Ghost stories told around the campfires of hunters and boy scouts, Halloween, movie monsters, or the nightmare once had, but never forgotten, all contribute to what will appear here.  I like Horror and I like things that scare me (even if I don't always answer Fear's knocking).
As a parting note, I also want to ensure readers will see thought provoking, well written prose and poetry.  In addition to providing the best new Horror, I plan to expose readers to the really classic pieces in the genre.  Many pieces of great Horror writing have gone out of print, or are languishing in the free public domain.  I plan to present a piece or two each month, in addition to the featured writers, so that the great Horror masters of the past are not forgotten, decomposing in the graveyard of pulp fiction.  I hope you will join me, not only as writers and readers, but as participating members in this enterprise.  Your feedback will always be appreciated, read, and considered.
